SCORE!!!

I went out today and bought a box of nickels to look through, and boy was I not disappointed! Number-wise, I only got three keepers, but what a nice little group they were.

First I found a War Nickel...a decent 1942-S. A few rolls later, out pops a rough 1950 German 10 pfennig coin. Odd, but interesting. I was hitting nothing for quite a while, when on the next nickel, I spied a "D" by Monticello.

"Great," I thought to myself. "another 64-D."

Turning it over, I checked the date...1939! Holy crap...did I really find a key date when I couldn't even manage a 2009-P? I looked at it and turned it over about fives before I believed what I saw. It was in nice condition to boot! 1939-friggin-D!

I am beyond happy! That is one hole I really wasn't sure I was going to be able to fill without buying the coin. Happy hunting!

what no "S"??-- if I had a nickel for every '64-D >>>>>>. ALWAYS check '39-P for die cracks & DBL Monticello & Cents. got mine a few years back, in VF/XF, can't get a buyer at $90--- worth $100+++. nickels ALWAYS give rewards for lookin'. good find :icon_thumright:

Wow that's really well preserved! Great work.
