Todays find at an old home site. I believe one penny is a steel penny but is too ineligible to tell. How can I clean this thing up. also the token is aluminum and needs cleaning. no idea what it is. The bayonet piece came out of a barn lying on the ground. rest of pennies are lincoln memorial. Is the Nickle a war nickle and part silver? Thanks for looking

WOW great finds , thanks for posting them !

Yeah, that slug of rust could very well be a steel penny. I've found a few, along with other
wheats, but for some reason, in my area, they only look like yours for a second or two, and
then they fall apart... no more steel, just rust. Great finds!!!

Good bunch of finds.. :)
Put a magnet on the 'steel' penny, if it sticks, it IS a steel one.
