Rang up 81, and got real excited. Popped the plug and there it was. Now I just saw it on its side, so I thought I had me a dime. Then I flipped it over, and was a bit confused. After I did a bit of searching on Google, I became excited again. 1944 Twenty Centavos silver!! I found this one in my dads back yard. I assume this was brought back home from the war. Love this find.

Yeah me and my girls got excited over that one, but per the norm, the rest was trash.

Wow, nice piece of history there. The Japanese never allowed the Phillippino government to mint silver coins, so this must be just after MacArthur returned in October 1944. My mother was a WAC whose unti arrived in Manilla days after MacArthur.

Hi, nice find. Congrats:icon_thumright:

Those are nice coins to find. Congrats on the silver.

Beautiful old silver coin save. Congrats

The more I have read about this coin, the happier I am with it. While it is not a rare coin as far as mint numbers, they are rare to find over here for obvious reasons.

They're pretty coins! Got mine (see avatar) in change from a little mercado in Baja during a vacation trip. Like you, I was pleasantly surprised to learn it was silver! Makes it even more exciting for you to pass your coil over it! Congrats!
