1944 Merc dime, 1952 Rosie dime, 1945 War nickel, Silver ring, & brass reindeer
Hello!
Got out for a few hours today! I dropped my daughter off downtown at the library ~ the rain had stopped and realized that I had my detector in the back of my car, so I headed down to the University district to do some hunting.
I dug a 1944 Merc Dime ~ 1952-D Rosie Dime ~ 1945-S War Nickel ~ 1921-S Wheat cent (and three other wheats) ~ 1979 South Korean 100 won ~ brass reindeer figure ~ and a small silver ring.
The 1952 Rosie was a tough one to recover! It was about 6 inches down in a bunch of roots. It took me a good 15 minutes to break through all the roots with my Lesche digger to get to it. I was pretty sure it was a silver coin or I probably would have left it there.
The silver ring is only 2 grams (marked 925) ~ The ring states PENCE DE MOY ~ it's French for THINK OF ME. I did a google search and found a couple jewelers that sell these rings. One company sells these silver rings for $51 each ~ and the other charges $110!! OUCH!!! Kinda spendy for a 2 gram silver ring!
Thanks for looking!
