I want to say hello to everyone out there and I will say thank you for letting me join I was family the coin that I am fixing to post was given to me when I was probably 10 11 years old and it has been put up for a long time and recently I was going through some old stuff and I came across it my grandfather gave it to me told me to put it up there one day I could use it and that's what I've done and I forgot about it through the years and when I seen it I was pretty amazed and I was hoping to get any feedback that I could get you to help me out okay about the coin it is a 1961 no mint penny this looks like a proof coin for what research I've done it sticks to a magnet as you will see in the pictures it is not a fake it weighs 3.1 grams and I'm going to try to get authenticator here soon and I hope the pictures are good enough I took them with my phone they could be better but I hope they're good enough y'all to see what's going on thank you IMG_20170712_203210.webp weIMG_20170712_203210.webp

Welcome Aboard JayTorr! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

Welcome to the forums! Your cent appears to have been plated with some other metal. I have no idea why, but this appears to have happened pretty frequently judging by the number that come to light. Great memento to remember your grandfather!

Welcome to Treasurenet !!
I see no need "to get authenticator here".
You already know its greatest value:
The fond memory link to your grandfather.
It's a 'keeper'; priceless.
Don......
