1982 and 83 DDR cent

Can anyone tell me on the. 82 and 83 memorials what mint marks should I look for that have the dd . I just don't want to check every 82 and 83 if I don't have to . I'm having trouble finding resources on the net that explain mint marks associated with specific errors

only '83 with no MM has DDR, the '82 is large and small date versions but not of any value. data from REDBOOK. the '83 is $385 for MS65. others are 71,72 DDO, 70S small date, 69S DDO, 84 doubled ear, 95 DDO, 98, 99 and 2000 WAM. in 88 boxes found one 98 WAM and 2 2000 WAMs. also look for 60D small over large date and 60 small date

Hey where do you live because I have done like $6,000 of cents and have found about 20 WAMs?

Mm is mint mark . Wam refers to the wide am as in the distance between the letters a and m in the word America on the reverse of the coin. ( tails side )

While the distance between the "A" and "M" in AMERICA seems not all that far (**), both 2000-P Lincoln Memorial Cents pictured, are infact "Wide AM" Varieties. This can be determined by the separation between the Designer's initials and the Memorial Building. When the Designer's initials are very close, sometimes almost even touching the Memorial Building, then the coin's Reverse was struck with a Proof Reverse Die. When there is a fairly large offset between the Designer's initials and the Memorial Building, then the coin's Reverse was struck with a normal Business Strike Die. See the link below for comparison. (**) Also, I have found and even seen a few "Wide AM" Variety Lincoln Memorial Cents from 1998, 1999 and 2000 that had very little separation between the "A" and "M" in AMERICA but were determined to be the varieties due to the closeness of the Designer's initials to the Memorial Building. The reason that there was so little separation between the "A" and "M" in AMERICA on these coins, was due to overgrinding and overpolishing of the Dies and especially the area of the Dies that contained the Lettering. It the grinding and/or polishing wheels are allowed travel too far into the area of the Lettering, the edges of the Lettering gets somewhat ground away and thus the Letters will show up closer to each other on a coin when struck. This is harder to explain in words than by actually showing someone but I hope what I just stated makes sense!

The one 1982-P "Small Date" Zinc Lincoln Cent, the two 1982-P "Large Date" Copper Lincoln Cents and the two 1982-P "Large Date" Zinc Lincoln Cents all with Double Die Obverses have very little value except in hgh grade uncirculated examples. However, the 1982-P "Small Date" Zinc Lincoln Cent with a Double Die Reverse, has fair value even in Fine condition and goes up moderately from there with higher grades. Go to the weblink below, click on "die variety search" on the left side of the page, then when the "Advanced Search" page comes up, type in the Date (1982). Next, click on the check marks (boxes) for the Phildelphia and Denver Mints, then click on the check marks (boxes) for Double Die Obverse and Double Die Reverse. Then scroll down to the "Submit Search" button and double click on it and the Varieties will be displayed. Beware, the Coppercoins website has problems. If you click on one of the Varieties and then want to get out (back up) and view another Variety, for some reason the website jumps to other Varieties. If you want to view another Variety, then you will have start over from the beginning each time you want to view another Variety of the 1982-P & D Lincoln Cents. They are trying to build a new website but are apparently having problems doing so.
