Weighing Lincoln cents, getting confused on the 1982 no mint mark.

I have always weighed my 1983-D smalls, But I just recently found an article on the "no mint 1982" Lincoln cent. https://www.chroniclecollectibles.c...hat year, the U.S.,higher weight of 3.1 grams.
I have a "few" and it just seems soo unlikely...Anyone have any input if it's really worth to weigh or not to weigh?

Whoever wrote that article had no clue what they were talking about. No mintmark just means it was minted in Philadelphia. Starting in 1793 until the present day the only Philadelphia minted cent with a mint mark was 2017, this was a one year 250 year commemorative of the Philadelphia mint. Partway through 1982 cents went from a 95% copper composition to zinc with a thin copper plate to save money. There were also small and large date varieties that year. All of the Philadelphia minted cent varieties that year are very common, the only rare 1982 is the 1982 D small date copper. To date only two have been authenticated.

Agreed... one must really do due diligence when researching coins... mainly one should rely on reputable coin sites that are recognized in the coin community.
So much garbage is all over the internet its not funny and getting worse all the while.
