1982 no mintmark dime

Can someone tell me why the 82 no mintmark dime is a keeper.I've found dimes from 1965 all the way through 1979 with no mintmarks.so what is it about the 82?I would appreciate the input!thanks

It's an error. Worth about $200. Be wary of removed mintmark.

The earlier dates didn't have the P mint mark. The 82 was suppose to have it.

Most of the '82's from the Philadelphia mint have a "P" on them. A few didn't...
In 1980 they started putting a "P" on the Philly dimes.
