All I need is one more silver coin! Then my goal will be reached, 200 silver coins in a half of a year. It's doable, since I have 15 days to find that one silver coin. The heat has set in and I'll have to pick my days and go early in the mornings, before it gets too hot.
I wasn't going to be able to go detecting today, because I was going to have deal with running the installer off who was suppose install my new built-in oven and microwave yesterday. But as things worked out, I was able to go. They're sending a new installer in the morning along with the appliances that I sent back and they're going to installed them at the price we agreed upon. A deal is a deal. It's matter of principle. LOL
I did some serious swinging today and covered a lot of area and several different sites. I found 10 wheat pennies, but no silver! I got a solid 80 VDI target reading and I thought it was going to be a silver ring, because silver quarters normally give a VDI number of 85. I popped a 1937 Washington Quarter. I scanned the hole again and the area around it in the all metal mode to see what caused the low VDI number. I found nothing.
I scanned the quarter on top of the ground and got a VDI reading of 83/84. The quarter could have been on edge, but it sure didn't act like it.
About 15 yards further down the sidewalk I got a solid lock on VDI reading of 85 and popped a 1952 Washington Quarter. It was less than 2 inches deep. I guess the hard clay ground kept if from sinking very much. You just never know.
I was tired and wore out and I didn't have enough energy to find another silver coin, so I headed for the house.
My F75DST detector settings: 9.0, Sensitivity - mostly around 80, DE Mode, 4H Tones, Disc Level 0, GB mostly around 75.
