1'st find by New guy, What is i?

Found this under an old apple tree in my yard about 4 " deep . made of cast iron, weighs about 1lb, appears to have had a hole in the end for I am thinking maybe a fireplace fineal. Thanks in advance, Stu

Could have been part of an andiron, I'm thinking maybe the handle of a fire place poker though.

Or off the top of a lamp? No I guess if it is cast iron it would be too heavy for a lamp. I go with NOLA Ken.
