I got out today for a few hours. I wanted to try the ctx on a cellar out in the woods but the area was logged. The only spots without slash was the edge of the cellat.I did manage 2 tombacs though. After a hour,I left and walked 45 minutes to the cellar where I found the Victorian buckle.I only had a hour. I dug up casings ,tons of small brass pieces,1886 Indian and a mystery piece.Shaped like a coin and everything tests like silver.I don't know, need help here. It was a great day to be out but the black flies are coming out.Time for the bug spray. Thanks for looking

Nice 1886 Indian! Same year Geronimo gave up the fight and surrendered to the US.
Absolutely no clue on that mystery silver. Could be a silver dime that befell some horrendous tragedy :laughing7:

I would bet your silver coin was to close to fire, & it started to distort like it did. I have found a few like that, in fields where there used to be homesteads & they burned a lot back then.
