Where are you, CannonballGuy? I bet you can help me with these. I think the darker colored one on the right is a Federal bullseye, but no clue on the other one!
 

First could be US Model 1858 canteen, and the 2nd is a bullseye, the ribs were added later to give it more strength.. Nice canteens...
 

I think erfranks has IDed them. Both are civil war period. Very nice relics. What is the story behind them?

Thank you both very much! As to the story, both were found in thrift shops here in Central Virginia-one about 6 weeks ago, and the second just yesterday. Appreciate your help!
