Hey guys, I found these detecting while scaling a rather steep hilltop.

These feel to me as dense as gold.

When I scratch with my fingernail, it exposes a bright silver color.

Sorry to burst your bubble but I don't really think it's gold. Gold would not have a layer of oxides (it won't tarnish) no matter how long it's been sitting there and it also won't be silver colored.

If it's heavy, silver colored, and in nugget shapes I think you might have a hunk of melted lead, maybe there was some sort of campsite there at some time? Old lead is usually white though so I don't know.

Dimensions and weight would help. Could be melted aluminum if it’s light.

I ordered a scale yesterday, but as I said it feels about the weight of gold.

My first thought was melted lead as well, I literally find tons of this stuff each year Michael.

If the melt price was higher I'd be retired by now. :laughing7:
