Went to my uncles today. He has a newer house, probably less than 20 years old. However, it was built behind where an old house stood. Original house was probably pre-1860's as the area I was hunting dates back to the 1820s/1830s.

Anyway, found some interesting things. Not sure what a lot of it is. I mainly look for coins.

Found 4 Coins...all good finds in my book.

Find of the day was an 1864 Indianhead Penny in VF-20/EF-40 if it weren't for the hole in it!!!

It was about 6" Deep. Man its gotta be one of the better Injuns I've dug.

Also score 2 wheats; 1917D and 1940 Washington Quarter.

The pic of MULTIPLE ITEMS are from this site.

Anyway, after that...I hit a vacant lot with a buddy who had obtained permission (former old home site...probably 1890-1900). Found 11 coins there in about 30 minutes.

3 Good Finds there.

1934 Mercury Dime; 1945D Wheat Penny; Some other token type thing. Looks familiar, but cant tell ya what it is. Any help would be cool.

Anyway, here are some pics of the finds.

Here are the pics.

looks like quite a good haul there. The shell casing in the middle is from a .30-30 WIN or a .32 caliber rifle.

Yeah. Its a Western 30-30

i take it those spoons were plated? I always get excited when I dig cutlery, hoping it is solid silver, but alas.. never is.. :-(

Yes. I'd say the one together probably was plated. The broken one is brass I think. Those 2 halves of the spoon were at least 3 feet apart.

Way to go, Congratulations!

UPDATE***

That 1864 Indianhead has an L.

So its an 1864 L. Man its worth $190 in VF. $300 in EF-40.

Not that I'd sell it...but now really bummed that it has a hole in it.

I'm gonna try to post a better pic.

This is definately one of my more rare find. Compares to my 1892S Barber Dime.

Nice fines and nice looking IH to bad about the hole but still a good find I have a 1864 L nice to know it's worth that much, Congrats.

Too bad about IH but still a rare find indeed and it's always exciting to find spoons/cutlery. Congrats on the Merc and silver quarter too. WTG!

congrats on another good hunt!....good looking silver and sweet rare IH! that's a nice keeper holed or not!....crazy how each side is different in color.... good stuff though...thanks for sharing

Congrat$ on the old Indian and Silvers - you are sure finding some good spots! I have found a couple tokens that look like yours but not sure either. Maybe an animal tag?

DH24,I'd sure be visitin uncle more often!:laughing7: Nice haul for sure!!! God Bless Chris

My kind of digs!

Postalgriff...that is crazy about different color on each side. Its not as noticable in reality. Lighting for pictures probably varied as I took the pics with my cell phone so I kept having to angle the coins differently to get a good shot. But there is defintately a difference.
