16 hours working in on the ACE 250... I'm up to 6.74 with the clad. No silver yet, but I have came close with a 1946 Nickel! I am not ready to start tearing up strangers yards yet so I'm sticking to the playgrounds and beaches I can get to. Any whoo on with the show and tell...

Got off of work and took a chance at park number 1. Had about 1.25 in change and a collection of foil bits from different things and after 10 minutes, up comes ring number 1. I knew it was nothing special cause its nothing I ever seen before and I know its not really in a ring shape. But none the less, it goes on a finger as jewrlry!

Park number 2 was really interesting cause I must have pulled up an ounce of foil trash that danced all over the readings, not like the pull tabs that have distinct read. Pennies everywhere. And then up comes ring number 2. It was upside down, covered in dark mulchy dirt and I was thinking "this is it! I scored!" Wrong. I flicked it off with my finger, turned it over and was laughing at my self for getting excited. Kid costume jewelry! A cat face with plastic jewels missing in a couple places.

Ring #2 is in the middle and #1 is on the right. The rock on the left is something I plucked off of the beach last week and I am not really sure what the heck is going on with it. Petrified dinosaur skin!?? Really stood out to me so I thought I'd share that too.

Congrats on that bling you dug. :occasion14: Keep hitting those parks and continue practicing on your plugs and learning your machine. I lucked onto a small park in a very small town when I began. The park is where the local fire dept held an annual 4th of July celebration for about 30 years and people hung around to watch the late night fireworks. It was virgin, and I didn't find anything old, but dig well over $200 in clad. It was so target rich that about every 3rd swing you hit a target. Most hunts there produced between $5.00 & $8.00 per hour which is almost 3 times more per hour than I average at other public sites. It was a great place where I got so good at digging that many plugs were flopped over to reveal the coin, no pin pointer necessary.

Something about that "rock" I really like. Any body from Rocks & Gems?

That first ring is way cool even though it got squished. As all rings count, purty kiddie ring.

Know absolutely nothing about the rock.

Good read. Your getting close. You'll be jumping up and down soon! Good luck!

Glad you found the two rings, but I really like that rock. That's just way different.

I assume you are in Jewelry mode. I would notch out (discriminate) every block to the left of nickel. I have virtually found nothing interesting in this area while doing your kind of hunting. It will cut out 75% of your foil digs, but larger foil or dense balls of foil will still ring up anywhere from Nickel to Silver so you can't avoid all of it. Nice finds and good luck!

The older pull tabs to me on the ACE 250 still bounce from the gold and brass setting. I have found nickel has fooled me with a modren pop top. Quarters also ring in the mulch at a lower ping as opposed to being in the sand. I'm still gonna pull all I can cause... ya knever know. ya knever never know...

wow thats a blinger from another planet

As a Milwaukee beach goer my entire life I've never plucked a stone like that.
Probably the oldest thing you'll ever find.
Natural Art at its best!
When was there a coral reef in Milwaukee last?
I know there are Bull Sharks but never seen one....

Congrats on the rings and that is a really cool looking rock!

Congratualtions on the nice rings! :occasion14:
