Very nice! At 13" too, had to really work for that one, just a step away from needing a backhoe!

Nice Spanish Silver! Two Reals don't turn up too often, great find.

nice find!! congrats

Wow, amazing find

Cool find, but it was probably lost in the same time period as the other finds, just look at the years of wear on it.

Great find...I'd put it on a sterling chain and wear it.

Agreed, Cru, that coin clearly spent some time in circulation! I would think, however, that it was not likely after 1857, as the Coinage Act of 1857 banned the use of foreign coins as legal tender in the states. People were able to turn in their foreign silver to the U.S. Treasury for exchange.

Thats a AWESOME find right there WTG

If was trying to look up the mint ad assayer but didn't have any luck...Thanks for the information

Great find.
Here's a similar one; the mint is Lima, Peru. The assayer's initials are J P. Don.......

It was lost from 1880 to 1910. Before 1880 this place was way out in a woods and after 1910 it became pasture field. Foreign coins were still used in the near by town even in the early 1900s.
