I found my first ring, then another in 2 hours of searching over the last 2 days! First was an 18kt gold .4oz wedding band and the 2nd was a tungston wedding band. I already sold the 18kt gold band to a pawn shop for a few hundred and I probably need to take the other to feebay. I plan to eventually keep the precious metal stuff but first need to pay back the metal detector haha so the wife doesnt kill me when I tell her how much it was:laughing7:

The 18kt ring was a solid mid tone and it was about 4 inches down in the wetsand. The tungsten ring was about 10-12 inches down and also a solid mid tone in the wetsand. These were both found in high picked beach areas but I went at the right time (low tide after nights of storms)

I am so sorry to hear you sold the 18 KT to a pawn shop for only a couple hundred dollars. ARA refineries pays 98% of spot so you just gave away about $500.

Nice math, sandman. $1305 times .4=$522. $522. times .750 is $391.50. He said he got a "few" hundred for it, not two hundred. So, exactly how did he give away $500?

NICE FIND AdamBomb! Get out there and get the rest of it paid for! HH ALL

I got 70% spot so it wasnt terrible. Had a few pawn shops try to give me 30%. Really it was just the convenience. BUT now that I know ARA pays 98%, I will go there. Thanks for the tip!

Definitely. Having a blast with it. Finding quarters 12 inches deep in wet sloppy sand is crazy. I swear I am digging pits sometimes to get things haha because they are so deep. I am learning a lot too - like where/when to hunt, how to listen for certain metals, and being a local at the beach gives me a lot of 'secret' places to hunt that most vacationers wouldnt go to. I mean I have had the thing for 2.5 weeks and I have already found a gold ring and tons of clad - several hundred dollars already in my pocket (nice to have a hobby that actually gives me some money back).

Man you're killing it. I carried my clad to a coin star machine from last year and a half and only had $87 worth.

Nice score on the 18k. 70% is really good for a pawn shop. You would have got about $390 from ARA but you have to send your gold through the mail and it takes about 10 days to get your check. Ive been sending there for four years with no problems...congrats on your finds.

My mistake on the math I mainly wanted to let you know about ARA refineries. Any gold band you get is definitely a plus, way to go. 😃
