Nice! Condition is marvelous....

You know your Roman's Don[emoji106]

Firstly congrats on a 2 Roman Silver day, where are all the scrappies?
It's even better you had them in the hardest month of the year, where are you able to detect such a good site this time of year?

PS. IDs on there way...(Although Don nailed the first one)

From Cru'dad:

''As Mackaydon has already ID’d and linked the first is a Julian II Siliqua.

The Second is an Hadrian Denarius AD137 minted Rome:

Obv: HADRIANVS-AVG COSII PP
Rev MONE-TA AVG Moneta standing left holding scales & Cornucopiae
Sears 3507 RIC 256''

The inscription on the reverse of the first coin can be read to mean:
Vows (prayers) on the fifth anniversary (of the emperor's rule), and for his (anticipated) tenth anniversary.

Don.....

Had 6 scrappies as you call them, in various states of decay. We've stumbled onto a small patch of field (15m wide and running the length of the field) that seems to have lots of Roman finds ,.it's yielded 2 other silver Romans so far and we've done maybe 40m by 15m of it.

Would love a gold one, never had one.

Like you Don knows his stuff, hope you and your Dad are well[emoji1696]
I've been busy recently so not been out or following things here but I'm sure you've been killing it .

We are on 15773 Bronze & 361 Silver & no Roman Gold. It's on my Wish List No.3.
I think it will come from a field with no other Roman finds.
If you get one I will have to kill you, it's not personal...lol

What I was wondering is what kind of field you have available when all the crops are growing?
(It sounds like when you finish gridding it, you will do well)

Yeap, we seem to get hammered nearly every outing & from the toughest of fields. Although that will probably end tomorrow.

The farmer rotates his Fields and this one is now pasture for the next 3 years, it was cropped last year so we couldn't do it.

Yeah those gold one's are elusive.

wow those are great

Like Cru said, it's great to have a field with this finds off season. Can't wait to see what comes up if you can grid the whole site. Congrats on your silvers!

Awesome finds!!!!!

Outstanding ! :occasion14:
