C O L D hunt in Baltimore today with JF.
We started at 28 F and ended at 32 F. No wonder fingers and toes were cold all day.
We were out from 11:30 to 4:30.

First field we tested yielded nothing but clad, nary a wheat between us.

We moved west about 6 blocks to a field that had given me some relics last month and it did not disappoint.

JF started off the silver run with a sterling four-way cross medallion.

Not long after that I dug a vintage silver ring, though the hallmark is worn off, you can tell it's silver. IMG_20181123_204635064.webpIMG_20181123_204702224.webp.

We both managed some wheats, a couple from the 20s and then I dug a 9-inch deep key-slot escutcheon IMG_20181123_213521118.webpIMG_20181123_213532715.webp.

JF had to head home and I hung in there until the sun set behind the rooftops. A 27-28 signal on the Equinox 600 turned out to be a clad dime.
After replacing the plug I got a high tone just on the edge of the plug and from about 5 inches down a coin ball revealed a thin and small silver disk.
I popped the dirt off to read the words "HALF DIME".
This is a first for me, first half dime IMG_20181123_204358062_HDR.webpIMG_20181123_204425587_HDR.webp

I love the ring & the Half dime Has Cool looking '5's' in the 55'.

Finding means adrenaline = Cold feels not as Bad. I just hope it was not Windy.

A good hunt.

Nice recoveries, McCDig. The half dime is super.

That half Dime is a beauty, no doubt about it. Maybe someday in another life I can find one. Well done!!

Congrats on the half dime. Too bad I had to leave early so I didn't get to see the silver smile on your face.
Even as cold as it was I know you warmed quickly with the two silvers. It took a while to get the feeling back in my digits.

Thanks Jamie. Truth be told, I may not have ventured over to where you were detecting had you not left. I just continued my grid pattern and worked over to where you'd been.
Feet were thawed by the time I reached home.

Thanks Washingtonian! Hang in there. I've been at it for five years now and this is my first.
