2 Spanish Silvers 5 feet apart

Had a good day at one of my old farm permissions!! First hole was the 1740 Reale then only 5 feet away nailed another beautiful Pistareen ! quite a rush digging those in first 15 minutes, and the 1738 is in such amazing condition after that nothing that great although the buckle may be quite old .

I recognized that coin! A 1738 PHILLIPUS is my oldest coin and one of only 4 Spanish silvers I have found. My 1738 is holed, with a bulge by the hole caused by the punch that was used and it is very worn. Yours is in beautiful condition. Congratulations on that and the other finds!

Good for you. That does not happen often.
There was a pretty recent post where a fellow (Leslie) found two Spanish silvers back to back.
About ten years ago I found 2, 2 reales coins in the same hunt, but probably an hour or so between.
I like that you include the dirty pictures. I also do that.

2 X 2 reales, GEO 1st copper, nice knee buckle

What a day, pretty hot, and the ground was more or less like lumps of cement. Kind of hard to keep your balance walking on them, Dave called them mogulls (spell check that). Dave got a copper straight away, and after an hour and a half I still only had one lonely musket ball. My first good coin...

I found a couple of Spanish 8-Reale silver coins (1855) and I too was amazed at the shine of the silver. Found them at night and when the flashlight hit it in the dirt we were just shocked at the reflection. But as soon as it hit the surface within weeks it started to darken. Beautiful finds!!!
