2 wars and a lone buffalo

Kind of a typical nickel roll hunt today...I miss the couple of past hunts where I would pull multiple war nickels from a box...my record is 22....also pulled a 37 buffalo, nice clear date.

Are war nickels the real motivation for searching nickel boxes and the occasional dated buffalo or early Jefferson mint-marked coin just an added bonus?

The reason I ask is that war nickels are like 40% silver halves (which I search a box per week) in that only a small percentage of the masses are aware of their significance.

I see posts from CRHers who search cents, dimes and quarters. Writing as someone who searched a LOT of rolls of cents in the sixties to try and fill a Whitman folder, there are <no> desirable dates left in the wild. There weren't any in 1966, either.

So why cents? Wheats? Seems like a waste of time. Dimes and quarters? An occasional silver, I guess.

The only other thing that makes sense is error coins.

I look only for the silver war nickels...I believe they are 35% silver...occasionally I will get a V nickel which is fun and buffalos which aren't worth much but I like to see if I can get early dates...

It's one of the better ones...so far I've only pulled one buffalo that was in better shape...good ones are hard to find...

Me too I think I'll do another nickel box tomorrow and then mix it up alittle with other clad...I'm trying out a new bank location to see if that area makes any difference...
