I have yet to start my own crh collection, I was recently switched on by my uncle, but while i wait for my first bag of halves, i decided to look through some change that i had found in my cash drawer at work.

I found 2 wartime nicks '42, '43

I also found 12 wheaties dated '52, '45, '28, '58, '52, '42d, '52, '50, '44, '27, '55, '53.

and a 1929 quarter

have not found much since i found these, still look though everyday i work

Yikes... a 29' quarter! Silver quarters are rare enough in the wild... let alone an SLQ... AND one with a readable date!

AWESOME score on that!

Don't mean to belittle you... but you do know 1942 nickels come in silver and non silver variaties right? The BIG mintmark on the back means silver... no BIG mintmark on the back means you got a normal one.

Just making sure you know. ;)

yes both the nickels have the mint mark above monticello....judt trying to get a fix of all the coins everyone is lookin for

Dude, finding an SLQ is sick! Way to go! Being a cashier is a great way to come across old coinage.

Awesome finds!!!

Wow

A SLQ is huge and any Wheatie in the 20's is good too.

Iv'e been at this for a while now (3 yrs.) and still don't have a SLQ.

Way to go.

Where do you work or what part of the USA do do work?... If you don't mind.

I mean if that came out of your cash drawer at work you must have some sort of time fluctuation going on there?!....

i work at a whole foods market outside boston

i bought $20 worth of nicks from the liquor store next to whole foods today to kill time at work...came close to a wartime nick...it was a '41 though...found alot of '50's and '60's nicks too
