this bulk hunting is exactly why our hobby is on the downward slide.... the hassle of a bank ordering that much and then dumping it all... IMHO

I have to disagree. Why should it be a hassle for someone to do the job that they are paid to do? Most likely paid to do by the taxpayers who are paying the bank bailouts.

The downward slide is probably caused by the majority of CRHers who do not post here and are unaware of the rules that we follow. There are a lot more of them than us.

I think it was a good idea to order the 20 boxes,but if it were me I would change banks after that one.

Nope. I disagree. Just my opinion but ordering 20 boxes is overkill - you're basically ruining your potential silver vein. Those banks will get more and more annoyed with you and pretty soon you'll be out a good bank.

I don't have a problem with someone doing more boxes per se however the issue is how that CRHer does it. If they ordered that many from one bank at once.. the bank probably won't be too happy dealing with it unless they get something out of it. If someone keeps ordering 20 boxes, I can see at some point they'll stop doing it for them because the tellers will think what's in it for me? Theoretically, the tellers are supposed to do it anyhow because of customer service but the selfish human element of it always comes out. It's just better to keep it a lower profile and order from multiple banks rather than overloading one.

One big searcher isn't as bad as multiple searchers that pop up out of the wood work nowadays. The new influx of CRHers is what is ruining it. If it continues, I can see this hobby going down the tubes.

why would any bank go through the hassle of dealing with 20 boxes of halves either pick up or dump... Esp when they arent making a cent off it all.. and in some cases.. they have to pay per box to order and per bag to send back.... depending on the bank... I can tell you that any of the 7 banks I have accounts with or their branches would not order or allow me to dump that many and not cut it all off... I know banks make all kinds of $$ and they can afford to pay out the fees... but because people have gone and are going nuts with this.. many banks have and will cut it all off.... just my opinion.. and I know there will be some or many who disagree

I had several bank managers tell me point blank, "It puts too much work on my staff regardless of those who think they are only doing their job" Then another said, order 2 a week I have no problem, order more, YOU have a problem. NUFF SAID! The bank has the final say, period.

Two boxes per bank per stop seems reasonable to me. I mean, order 8, 15, 20 if you like, but I think you're going to find yourself out of friendly banks pretty soon.

I order 5 boxes per bank from 4 banks on occasion cycling between each of the 4 banks. So typically I do 5 boxes a week from one of the 4 banks, thus never 'hitting' the same bank more than once a month. However since I had 3 days off and felt in the mood I ordered 5 from all banks. I don't think I could keep 20 boxes a week up very long or keep my girlfriend for that matter. (She's out of town which enabled me to annihilate our living room with eviscerated boxes of halves).

And before you ask no I don't dump 20 boxes at once branch...

The reason I wanted to try this was to attempt to break a skunk streak that has been going on from basically all of my order banks, and to 'eat through' the junk. Not sure if it's a fluke or a boat-load of dumps, but it's a whole lotta clad i'll say that!
