All Treasure Hunting
After completing the whole of the next door field to the Roman Bath House we returned to finish the less promising end of the Bath House Site. This end had not produced much in the past but as we have time to spare, it was worth covering the whole field & the outer edges of the known scatter.
At the beginning of the hunt I got a Celtic Bronze Unit (Coin) of Rues AD1-10, but it wasn't until the end of the hunt in no-mans land that Cru'dad pulled out the best coin of the year so far. (in terms of rarity)
A Celtic Silver Unit of Cunobelin AD20;
Hercules Resting on Club
Naked Lady riding a feline creature whilst feeding it.
This Celtic twist of a story is thought to have come across to our island in the stories of Europa & the Bull. Maybe Chinese whispers at work....

Plus a nice double Centionalis of Magnentius - Our best example!

We only target ourselves for 1 Celtic Silver a year, so we are streets ahead of the game this year!

Swell coins you found there...you two delivered, as usual.

Sweet finds for sure :occasion14:

I would be well pleased with the Magnentius, not one you see often. Great Silver Unit.

Just awesome! Cru, those of us that have followed your posts over the years know that you and Cru Dad are not lucky....you know what you are doing and more importantly it's obvious you guys put in the effort. Just curious as to how much time it would take you to properly grid say a 50' by 50' section of field? Or just something to give perspective to the level of effort you guys put in.

Incredible last two hunts Cru! The age of this stuff blows my mind. Just awesome man.

Wow that coin is incredible Cru! Congrats to you and Crudad for nailing such a rare one so early in the season. You fellas are off to a great start

The abbreviation, AMB, in the exergue designates the mint at (today) Amiens, France. That mint was briefly opened during the revolt of Magnentius (AD 350-353). The AMB mintmark is therefore limited to issues of Magnentius and Decentius and to coins of Constantius II and Constantius Gallus struck immediately after the defeat of Magnentius.

Amazing Cru, congrats on the sweet Roman and especially that Celitc silver. Marvellous!

Great finds. Looking forward to other great recoveries in 2016.

I like them all. You're a great hunter [emoji106]

Fantastic Cru!
And the season just begun. Can't wait to see what comes out in the next couple months.

Holy Moses, you two are on a hot streak!! Thank goodness you gridded no-mans land which is something I need to do more of. A lot of truly great finds have been found in areas away from the iron or hotspots. Congrats to both of you!
