That copper plated piece of zinc is very ugly. I dare say that some of what you think of as errors are a
result of environmental damage. Any time moisture, especially if mildly acidic, penetrates the very thin, imperfect plating, the result can be bubbling, pitting, caving, and a whole host of other visual indicators demonstrating corrosion of the underlying zinc, as well as the copper plating. Based solely on the images, I do not think you have anything but a zincoln that has been in the ground at least a few months.

I agree, that is just a blister in the plating.

That is one ugly penny. Bury it for the next generation.....Oh wait it would dissolve in just a few years.

This is a 3 step process...

Find 49 more, roll them up, and deposit.

Come down to a salt water beach sometime. You will find thousands more just like it, or worse (more likely)!:laughing7:

I had gone down to a beach and found an extremely bad penny. Turned out to be worse than I thought and it deteriorated in my pocket!
