Casper, your pictures and finds got me started on water detecting. You helped me once before on wet suits. I bought an excal earlier this year and found about 50 rings (8 gold) in total. I just recently retired and plan on detecting every day as soon as the WI weather allows it. Once again I see your finds and I am impressed. I wish you even better results in 2014.

MULTIPLY WHAT i GOT FOR SINKERS AND LURES THIS YEAR BY AT LEAST 10
FIGURE IF I LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO RETIRE - WILL CLEAN ALOT OF THE LURES UP - PUT NEW HOOKS ON THEM AND SET A TABLE UP BY SOME OF THE POPULAR FISHING SPOTS - MAKE A FEW EXTRA BUCKS - BY THEN i SHOULD HAVE EVEN MORE

Thought i found lots this year..but not compared to what you found !!!!! maybe I,ll do a lil better next year.

Very hard to find rings etc on the beaches here...not much swimming or traffic on them..water is too fricking cold !!!

Thanks for posting the great thread & Awesome finds .

I hope to one day do the water hunting thing ( bucket list, tho I don't care for the word)
also kinda landlocked here in N Ga. .

IMO That salt water does a number on those silver coins ; Still neat to see you found some older types (Mercs, SLQ,& were there a couple WL Halves).

One more ? Does the extra .25% silver in the sterling help it stand up to nature than the 90% US coins ?.
or Did You clean the sterling up more?. Just curios

Im a water hunter - I hunt cellar holes and farm fields on land = you will very seldom see me on the dry or even wet sand - you will usually find me up to my neck
