2014 is over, tallied up my finds today

Well, the ground is hard as a rock now, and the snow is arriving. I spent a few hours today cleaning and adding up my finds. This season I was able to find 914 coins with a face value of $49.72, and I met my goal of digging 50 silver coins. That means my silver coin to non-silver coin ratio was at 5.3%, which I am really happy with! I also found my first real solid gold ring! It's old and thin but I love it.

All in all it was a good season, nothing mind blowing, but I had lots of fun. Thanks for checking out my digs. Now I hibernate.

J.G. Tarver was called "the Texas giant", he was a sideshow withe the circus. This ring was a replica that would fit him. It was sold with travelling carnivals and the circus back in the 20's and 30's. Definitely the largest ring I have ever found!
