IMG_0158.webpIMG_0152.webp Image (29).webpWe got out for a Sunday hunt but had to deal with the last inch and a half of snow and partially frozen ground but still managed to dig 84 coins worth $9.83, a token and a junk metal ring. We're hoping to get in at least one more hunt before the ground freezes over and puts an end to detecting until next spring. On Monday evening at the coin club I belong to, I made a metal detecting exhibit and gave a short talk about detecting and was given a 1939-S Walking Liberty Half for my effort.

Nice hunt and cool silver token for a job well done! :occasion14:

Very nice! We have some time yet,the ground hasn't frozen and the forecast for the next 10 days looks like highs in the low 40s (up here in Goshen). This rain has the cornfields almost too muddy to hunt, but I'll stilll take this, as in 6 weeks or so, the ground will be frozen like concrete.

It was very brave of you all to be able to dig 84 coins under the snow. My coin club used to award a walker for the best find each month.

sweet, congrats

I would go thru the winter pulling stuff like that out Well done

The ground here is muddy too. A combination of melting snow, a lot of rain, and a partial ground freeze makes for UGLY hunting conditions but it's way better than NO hunting.

Thanks, we were determined to NOT let the lousy ground conditions stop us.

Nice finds! 90 degrees and muggy don`t seem so bad now.:tongue3:

congratulations nice finds and on winning the half. High here today is supposed to just reach 61 degrees with rain y'all are tougher then me. The rain has me house bound

Nice finds! :icon_thumleft: Very nice Walker for your efforts! I wish there was a club around me. The closest one is 60 miles away.

Thanks, 90 degrees and muggy would keep me indoors for sure. I just can't take the heat anymore.

Thank You.....61 degrees sounds wonderful right about now. We've had a lot more rain than usual up here this year.

Thank You. This coin club has been around since 1972 and has about 75 members of which about 40 attend every month. There aren't many clubs around anymore though.
