Spent 4 hours on my own on the 2nd Fav Field, its Wheat Stubble but some areas are OK & the soil conditions are perfect (damp). It still amazes me how many targets are left after Dad, Shaun (couple of years) & I have done it for 10 years & many others for 10 years before that
What helps is they deep plough every year
(Shaun7 & I spent 15 minutes on here last week whilst waiting for Dad, the targets in the heavily hit area gave me confidence more was on the higher slope)
Its an encouraging start with:
Ancient Bronze Awl
3 Roman Scrappies
2 Lead Tokens
Roman Mount
Cross & Crosslet
Silver 18th C cufflink bit which was only hanging onto life by the mud.
Nice Tudor Button
Nice Flower 17th C Button
Just about managed a hammered Penny of Charles I
