My brother struck gold again. Same yard, about 10 feet away from the last one. What was cool about this one is the home owner was home and showed my brother some of the history of the home. It used to be a farm and also the owner sold and traded horses out of a big barn. The original house is still there but the barn was torn down long ago.The coin was about 5 inches away and our beep and dig machine was on foil.
The new coin is the 1909. I took a picture of both because they look so good together. Thanks for looking, Dan

WOW! I'd be happy with one, but TWO of them! And from the same site no less. Keep it up, that's the kind of Christmas we all dream of!

that is SO not fair.... I've been hunting about 37 years and still haven't found one. Those are amazing and very beautiful. HUGE congrats! whoever lost them back then must have been steaming mad... that was a heck of a lot of money back then.

Re: 2nd gold coin - You have my dream finds! - Banner

Amazing and inspirational. How cool either one of those beauties would be to bring back to the light. My mom, who left this world many years ago, once found one of these when she was seven or eight years old. Her dad made her turn it into the government when the country called gold in during the '20s. She always dreamed of finding another one and bought a detector when I got my first one back in the '70s. Thanks, for sharing and convincing us that the dream is still alive.

Let me try to explain, Right know I'm working two jobs. One from home, that I can get on here but I can't leave the house and the other is a second shift job. I literally cannot get out right now unless it was at 1:00am after my second job.About 3 years ago my brother lost his job and asked if he could borrow it to pass the time.Well needless to say he was hooked from his first hunt, so anytime I can't get out I let him swing it and he has been giving me half the clad and most of the silver he finds.I will say it is frustrating that I can't get out. But he works 3rd shift now and he will take the machine out after work and hunt.
I'm thinking about giving him my machine for a present for Christmas and buying a new one for myself. It has been a crazy busy year, but I should slow down next spring and he already has permission from 5 home owners so next spring we will both be out there.
The homeowner was home when he found it and he just said good job. Before my brother started hunting the homeowner told him that if he found anything good to take him and his wife out to dinner.Well maybe he will have to take them out to dinner twice. :laughing7:
Lastly my brother will do nothing on a computer or internet, that's just him. I post his finds to share with you guys because that's what this site is all about. Thanks, Dan

I am glad about that :laughing9: definition of procure ; to get and make available for promiscuous sex ::) It's all right Dan :icon_thumleft: I am used to the original poster being the actual finder on this forum , but I figured there was a reason. I work many hours so I feel your pain . Sharing finds are a good thing here on TN . Great team effort and two dinners are a nice way to say Thanks . They have to be the Best landowners in the history of metal detecting. Thanks for the explanation , I dislike asking questions . Happy Holidays and be glad you work , dawg

Did you show the home owner the coin? What if the home owner says hey, my property! I just dug a friends house today and every time I dug up junk he kept saying... you can keep that. Glad I didn't find gold. Didn't want to complicate things.

Great pics of those beautiful coins my friend! Any place where horses and mules were bought and sold, or horses were raced, a lot of money changed hands. Great work.

Absolutely awesome. I think a couple of dinners are in good order. :icon_thumright:
