Ok I must be dreaming, a couple days ago I posted a big 8.1 gram 14k Artcarved ring that I found. Well today after taking my son to his doctor appointment and having lunch with my wife, my 4yo boy said he wanted to metal detect with Dad. I had an extra hour to kill before having to head home to meet the school bus with my other two kids, so we found a park I'd never tried because it's fairly new. Despite being between several civil war camps it's all been dozed and has virtually no chance of producing anything old. So I didn't expect much more than a few coins around the tot-lot, and a few smiles from a happy little boy. About 20 minutes in I got one of those tab tones that I've learned to both love and hate. Then up comes the one thing I wanted the most yet expected the least, my second gold ring of the week.
I had to get home and look with my loop to verify the marking, it the first I've found that is stamped 916 (aka 22k), and it weighs 3.8 grams.
Thanks for reading

Sorry for the upside-down pic but 916 upside-down still reads 916
