Yesterday I put down 100.00 on halves and didn't get squat. I went to a bank today cashing in my halves and took out another 300 and started hitting up banks in the area. I am pretty suprised how many banks are actually in this little area. Anyways my first bank had two rolls of 10 and a few loose halves. I hit a few more banks that didn't have any. The walmart closest to my house has a bank in it also there is this game in the breezeway where you can actually win 90% silver coins. I decided to try my luck today on the game I put in 1.50 and came up with a 1953 franklin. and an ike with a 1942 mercury dime. I ran into the bank in walmart and came out with 2 20.00 rolls. I hit a few more banks to get my 300.00 worth. In the end my grand total of silver found..

1953 Franklin
1945 Mercurdy dime
1966
1967
1968 x 4
1969 x 2

Heres the pic

Pretty good score! I've never seen games where you can win 90% coins. With silver at the level it is I wonder if the profit is still there. Unless it's like those carnival games where by the time you've won the stuffed animal you've spent $20!

I have pretty much broke even with the win lose ratio playing this game. There is actually a standing liberty waiting to be won right now. I won twice in a row then I ran out of quarters :\ I have always been good at winning at these types of games though. I am half tempted to take my metal detecting quarters and head back to walmart to see if I can win it lol.

Add another walking half liberty to that list... Has anyone here tried buying rolls of the gold dollar coins? I swear all of the banks were trying to get me to buy these. Sure would be nice to find some real gold in those rolls.

Congrats on your finds!!
That game sounds pretty cool!! Winning silver coins!! That's definitely different..

Good Luck!!

Out of curiousity I bought $600 worth a few months ago at a Bank of America and did find a couple of keepers but nothing spectacular. The same teller says he's got $500 more just sitting in the vault. If I get bored maybe I'll take 'em off his hands. I wish Ikes came in that frequently.

i'd do it ;)

Yeah I ended up going back and scored that walking half. Well its 5:55 am and still dark outside. I am waiting for dawn so I can hit up my metal detecting site then its off to hunt down more halves. I think every time I go looking for halves I am going to head to walmart and test my luck to see how my day is going to go :D.

What keepers did you find?

The $600 was a mixture of Sacs and SBAs and I found a 1981-S SBA (all 81's were released only in mint sets) and a 2002-D Sac. All Sacs from 2002-2006 are like Kennedy halves and not released for circulation.

I did that search last fall before I contributed to this site. In fact I'm not sure if there was a roll hunting board then.
