Had the day off so the boys and I decided to run some errands. First went to the dump to get rid of some garbage. Then went to another branch of my credit union to return the halves from Friday. The lady was very nice. I was sort of nervous going in. Next, the local park for some playing and detecting. Spent about 30 minutes and found one quarter. Boys were getting hungry. Across town we drove to the Mickey D's. I had called a friend at a bank and he found $240 worth of halves at another branch. They were holding them at the bank next door to Mickey D's. Couldn't get the boys to eat quick enough. Finally walked over and picked up the halves. Went across the street to another bank and all they had was $6.50. Took them but no luck there. Went into the old part of town to hit two old banks there. No luck. They didn't have a thing. Time for naps so home we went. They had given me the halves in an old money bag. Pretty cool. Might start to have to ask for these. Told the boys to go lay down and started in on the coins. First roll had three 1967s in it, four 1968s, and five 1969s.
I am getting pretty excited now. Next several had nothing. Then started to pick up a few 40%er here and there. Next to the last roll had an s on the outside. Could it be? YES. The entire roll was 40%ers. 1965 x 1, 1966 x 3, 1967 x 8, 1968 x 6, and 1969 x 2. $240 worth of halves and got $18 worth of 40%ers and no 90%. I will take it. I am getting spoiled. This is so addictive.
