Hello everyone,

My after work hunts have only been 2-2.5 half hours maximum in time so I thought I would put three together instead of posting each individual hunt.

Starting with tonight's hunt finally got back into colonial times. At least I believe so, the coin is toasted I don't want to wash any of it because I believe I see a date 1740 something. Nothing else to exciting from the woods other then what appears to be an old knife blade, modern clad, junk, couple square nails or horseshoe nails.

Last evening at a local park I was able to come up with two silver Rosie dimes 1946, and 1957 and various modern clad.

Last Friday's after work on yielded modern clad and two nice silver dimes, 1942 Merc and 1951 Rosie.

I'm pretty psyched to find the copper even though it's toasted. It's nice to find coins that old.

Enjoy the photos, and happy hunting.

Definitely looks like a KG.

Nice hunt.

I can see an exergue line on the coin indicating it is most likely a KG. Pick the crud off with a toothpick and then apply a product called Verdi-Care multiple times until the coin is re-hydrated. While it dried, hold it at an angle to the light and you should see a bust--the direction of the bust and diameter will indicate which type of KG you have. Nice find :icon_thumright:

Nice group of finds.

Very nice finds. Congrats on the KG and silvers. Well done as usual. Best of luck to you!

Very nice finds.

Overnight in olive oil, a little tooth-picking, and some Vaseline. Old King George II and Brittania appears. I'm very stoked! I went on a long dry spell since I found a recognizable colonial coin!
