A freind of mind invited me to go hunting with him last weekend. We were both armed with our GPX's. Him with the 5000 and me with the 4800. Well it was not long until I dug the first Confederate button with the GPX. Turn out to be a North Carolina with no back. (A first for me). We both continued to dig, after about 10 Min's, and about 10 or 15 feet from were I dug the first NC here comes Gary with a big smile on his face he had dug a NC Sunburst with no shank. (This was his first Confederate button with his GPX as well) Needless to say we slowed down and hunted a little harder, but to no avail. The NC I had dug was about 9-10" and sounded like it was right on top of the ground. Gary was nice enough to invite me back to his spot the next day, where we found the North Carolina buttons. We did not find any NC buttons, but I did mange to dig a pewter Block I, A first for me. Thanks for looking.
