The thing about detecting in the UK, is the wide time range of the finds possible . These are the finds from a fairly small, rather nondescript field. A Roman knee brooch 2nd century, a Saxon strap end 9th century, and a open top thimble 14th century. Don't get me wrong, I spend plenty of time digging modern junk, but sooner or later something comes along.

Cheers . I may go out again this afternoon. That would be 4 afternoons in a row. I only detect though for about 3 hours. I find shorter sessions to be more enjoyable, and easier on the back.

Any field you can get Roman/Saxon/Medieval in 1 day is pretty special in our books, only needed Iron Age for the full sweep. (we don't count bronze age, but that would be a double bonus!)
Seems like you still have places to go, we would have normally run out by now, so this year is unusual.

Going out about 5.30 Cru, the weather is great.

fantastic finds!

Great finds! Agree with Cru, Roman, early and late Medieval in one hunt is outstanding! You're a lucky guy with fields to hunt this time.... :icon_thumleft:
