I found these three gold rings during a wading hunt yesterday. The first ring is a "Seal" ring. Its carved in reverse. The three symbols look to me like swans. The motto is Greek and says "UT VIVAS VIGILA". It doesn't have a karat mark but that's how it came out, so I'm going to say 14K. Also the band is missing a good size piece, its possible the mark may have been there. The best part is the inscription on the back. It says
Cath,C Wade
I think it says- Born 9,,th March 1841
Not sure, but- Oct,,83
Its pretty worn on the back, and being that old they must have spoke/written differently than we do now so its a little hard to decipher. Pretty sure Cath is short for "Catherine". It must have been somebody's ring that they had a memorial engraved on the back. I've searched and searched the web for information with no results for the Crest/Coat of Arms or the name. If you have any ideas Id like to hear them. Next ring is a sweet 14K signet ring with the letter "M". Very small size. Last but not least...Unmarked 9-10K "69" Ring. This ring was found an hour later but not 50 feet from the Seal ring. It came out black, the last picture is after tumbling. All came from the north east and in waist deep saltwater. Thanks

My thought is that somebody had that ring (not necessarily in 1841) then in or after 1883 had the memorial engraved on the back. "Cath" was 42. I've been trying to find the crest with no results. Its very hard without knowing the last name. and the last name "Wade" doesn't come up. If anyone can help with the crest I would appreciate it.

Oh baby , triple Gold.
If the "69" ring is 9kt,, then it may be of European origin.
Congratulations on a great hunt.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

OMG Excellant hunt!

A few things that "might" help in your research about the "Seal" ring:

"must have spoke/written differently than we do now so its a little hard to decipher."
Could it be from Europe/Ireland ?

WADE, CATHARINE AGNES thru WADE, CATHERINE
From link above:
WADE, Catherine was born ABT 1841 in Co Dublin and she was in the 1901 census for Town of Rush, Lusk, County Dublin, Ireland
Check the source file (free) and then check Archives for CATHERINE WADE.

WADE, Catherine was born ABT 1841 in Co Galway, and she was in the 1901 census for Curraghghleamnagh, Shankhill, County Galway, Ireland
Check the source file (free) and then check Archives for CATHERINE WADE.

WADE, Catherine was born ABT 1841 in Co Westmeath and she was in the 1911 census for Clonmellon Town, Killua, County Westmeath, Ireland
Check the source file (free) and then check Archives for CATHERINE WADE.

Also, looks like "wade" or "wades" or "ware" or "wares" is written on the base of the cross but not backwards like the phrase
on the bottom part of the ring.

Could it be an Irish/Celtic Cross with snakes like a pagan symbol ?

I remember the beautiful vintage Ruby Diamond & Sapphire ring you found. You have a great little jewelry box
that's yielding some great old treasures. Keep buzzing the hell out of that place ! Cheers ! J.T.G.

look at 4:55 - 69th reg.

Thanks Jose, That looks like it should help me find it. I'm actually going to be in Ireland later this year and Ill bring the ring with, possibly something will turn up at one of the pubs I plan on doing research at! This ring and the "Ruby, Diamond & Sapphire" ring were found about a mile and a half from each other.

Thanks Casper, I saw that and I'm very excited to get some feedback from some emails sent out last week. No answers yet.

This is a great video! Thanks! And, "The 69th" was from New York. Very interesting. Mike's ring could have a very cool connection.
