For lack of a better word for it, I Decided to hunt the "street Island"
West of the street Park I have been doing lately

a little History, in 1875 these streets had a run of water
through them

& the reason it burst through last year.

Ground wasn't bad Jim.

Dry but not Hard.

Thanks all !

I Thought for sure a silver coin would pop out also.

the Run of water has been covered over since at least 1900 I'd guess.

The little figure looks like a "muscleman" figure. As a kid I used to have plenty of them. If I remember they are from the 80's...ish.

We call them commons - cause they are usually town owned and look like a smaller version of a town common
if they have trees on them we will call them tree belts in the middle of the road - usually tree belts are the land between the side walk and the road
I did real well on some of those in my younger coin shootin days - a lot of guys will pass them up because they dont want to be that out in the open
we played on them as kids - prob why you got matchbox cars - people sit on them for parades - if you are from a land with snow - anything dropped near there can get plowed onto them

Thanks Don ! I learned something New :icon_thumleft:

This one has definitely been used heavy since the 70's
and I would think for the last hundred years.
allot of trash though (Not a one day walk in the park)

Great job with the photos and maps, btw
