First time out for several weeks, all my fields being in crop, so l tried round the edges of a Potato field, that has given me several Roman coins in the past. Found this little beauty!! Oliver Cromwell silver Penny.
Just Half an inch across, and 0.3 gram.

That's pretty darn cool! What would be the date of that?

Great find John :icon_thumleft:, that's a period that has eluded me so far. I've managed to hit all around that era, but no commonwealth as yet :tongue3:. Once again, well done

What a little beauty! Its around 1600?

:headbang:

They still illude me also :dontknow: Commonwealth coins were also known as Breeches Money(slang) issued between 1649 and 1660, During the Time of Oliver Cromwell(1599-1658) Hammered coins from this period bear no portrait of a king or queen for there was none.
Great find John :notworthy:
