I had a little play time so I went back to one of my old permissions. The knife came out of the ground straight up and down like it was stuck in the ground hundreds of year ago. Some of the ground was low and wet so the copper coins usually come out destroyed. It also doesn't help when they drill holes in them!!

That is the ultimate holed coin! Probably made their own washer, any largies make for a good hunt
 

Is that a bullet hole? Good shot if it is. I used to shoot coins. Tape them to target and shoot them. About half of them would fly off and disappear when hit. Maybe thats what happened to yours???
