Went out first thing this morning. Hit the curbside 600 feet away from where I live lol.
To my amazemennt I found 3 rings and some bus money.
Copper ring with maybe a plating and some stones,
A small 3 stone silver-plated? ring with diagram inscriptions inside,
And a Sterling Silver "Autumn Sun, 10-02" 925'er
This is the most rings I've found in one hunt.
Cool start of the day...

Good finds.

Never heard of 'Autumn Sun' as a jewellery mark, but I suspect that's a modern ring.

The three stone ring is not plated. It's sterling silver. The 'diagrams' inside are British hallmarks: the anchor for our Birmingham assay office; the lion passant for sterling standard; and the script 'W' as the date letter for 1996. I don't know who the maker 'D & W' might be but modern jewellery isn't my forte. I've seen other rings in that style, with the red central stone as a garnet.

We've had a big discussion on this ring at home. Yes, this 3-stone ring does look sterling silver in every way, but it never showed any 925 markings so I wasn't sure if it was or not. However, I've visited the D & W website, and I found it quite interesting. It's good to get feedback on this one, thanks. A very interesting process in Britain to register jewelry. Yes, it does look like a garnet stone in the middle. Much appreciated.

You're welcome.

Until 1999, the '925' mark was never part of our hallmarking system. The 'lion passant' itself has traditionally been the mark for sterling silver, although there was no restriction on the manufacturer optionally applying the 925 mark in addition if he so wished. That would have been highly unusual though. In 1999, we changed our system such that '925' became the authorised mark for sterling and the 'lion passant' becoming optional. This was to align us with hallmarking standards in the EU, although we are no longer part of it.

When you say you 'visited the D & W website', might I ask for a link? As I said, I don't know who registered the 'D & W' mark.

Awesome! Since I know nothing about this type of marking, it's been a really good learning experience on this for me.
Yes, I have the site:

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the link, but I would be sure that Canadian company is not the maker of your ring. They just happen to have the same initials. Your ring was made in England and 'D & W' is listed in reference sources as a Birmingham maker since at least 1972, but not further identified by actual name.
