From F. L. Coffman's "1001 Lost, Buried or Sunken Treasures", c. 1957, p. 183: "19. During the Civil War, a sum of $300,000 in metal chests was buried near the Parlange Plantation, near New Roads, Point Coupee Parish, Lousiana."
