3rd hunt for 2010

Went out for 2 hours today in the woods, the ground was nice and soft but the snow was still 3" to 5+". It was nice to get out but I will say it again - GOD I HATE SCHILLER WOODS!!!

I was hunting along and I found "twistedd's tree house" (or whats left of it) where he found a V-Nickel last year. I just found 2 spoons, a few pulltabs and a 1977 penny out in the middle of that place.

You all that have luck in that god forsaken garbage dump let me know where you are finding all the old coins, I have hunted there 15+ times over 3 seasons now and the only old coins I have found was:
1 IH penny
4 Wheaties
2 Buffalo Nickels
1 Merc
& about 37lbs of trash

I have hunted there 15+ times over 3 seasons now and the only old coins I have found was:
1 IH penny
4 Wheaties
2 Buffalo Nickels
1 Merc

& about 37lbs of trash

That trash might have been me. I played there as a kid and lived a few blocks away. Of course that was over 50 yrs ago. How old was the trash?? LOL

I know I PM'd you but figured I would reply. Like Watercolor said, at least you got out today. My day consisted of driving looking for some lost places to hunt around here. At least the day wasn't completely lost cause I actually found a few.

Had to leave work Saturday morning early, real effin' ill, don't even remember Saturday, the fever came and went. The only thing I got out of this weekend was some fine hockey watching this afternoon, dozing in and out.

Now for the rest of this weekend I'm catering to the wife and kid who both came down with the bug hard today. Gonna be a long night.

I'd love to hunt Schiller Woods!

Glad you found the old treehouse! I never really hunted that spot too much. I was ready to leave when I pulled the 1890 V from right under the treehouse. The bugs were killing me. I haven't hunted there more than three or four times total, and haven't found as much as you have there, but I wouldn't mind hitting that place again sometime.
