What a relief, we had some rain this weekend & today it was overcast & pretty cool, so for now the heat wave is over.....
Today's plan was to finish gridding the new Roman Site & hope for 1 Roman Silver. We gridded for 5 hours & completed the main area after getting lots of scrappies & instead of the Roman Silver Cru'dad got a surprise CELTIC SILVER.:hello2:

2 Pot Shards I can't ID, pie crust type & some with simple line decor on the rim (Land-Mag any ideas? Medieval?)
34 Scrappies
17th C Button (Star) - A first
17th C Crotal Bell with mans faces - A first & our biggest complete one
Roman Pin Head
Celtic Fibula
Bits...
5-43 AD Iceni - Boar type Silver Celtic Unit - Common type but our first.8-)

Congratualtions on the very productive hunt! :icon_thumleft:

Celtic coins are the bomb and that crotal bell is way cool.

Early Huntingdon medaeival ware 1050 to 1250AD

crazy crotal bell, that alone would be an awesome find. I really like the art work of the Celtic coin, has kind of a dragon flair to it

Amazing finds as always! Glad y’all got a break in the heatwave
