I had to go to the bank I dump my halves at. I had told them that I wanted to buy their quarter, dime and penny bags when they fill up. They called to tell me the $1000 quarter bag was full, and if I wanted it, I would have to come get it today. I did a quick search of $200 in halves from the box I bought yesterday so I could dump some halves while I was there. I found a few more clads for my collection, plus a 1969D 40% and a 1999S proof. In my haste to head out the door, I left the 40%'er at home, but I did bring the proof so I could take a pic and upload it from broadband.

The other $300 in halves from yesterdays halves box produced nothing further. The $1000 quarters bag produced a well worn 1946 junk silver washington*, a 2008 canadian quarter, and a 1982 cayman islands quarter. There were 63 nickels in the bag, and the bag was short by 63 quarters. So the counter on their machine is accurate, but the coin sorting is not so reliable. At least it doesn't reject foreigns or silver :thumbsup:

* That 1946 quarter is the same junk silver coin that I used to "test" that banks coin counter for silver reject back on 4/8/11. I mentioned that test in this post;

It sure is a bummer that I'm the only one that dumped a silver quarter in that machine in the past few weeks :dontknow:

take lemons and make lemonade my friend, when you "deposited" that quarter on the 8th, it was worth roughly 7.23, right now as I post it is worth roughly 8.31.

In just a few short weeks your money earned you around 14.9% IN A BANK, sure beats 1% most accounts give :laughing9:

You might not have hit a silver jackpot, but like a blitzing linebacker you got the quarter back :)
(I crack myself up)
