I finally figured it out! The reason the half dollar slots have been less productive (1966 & 1968-D today from $1,000) is because LJ must be visiting on the sly! She has to venture farther and farther since she's cleaned out the bayou banks. Pretty sneaky LJ!

Also got $40 in nickels and found -
