I was checking my camera before I leave for a short trip this weekend and thought I'd go ahead and provide answer to a comment or two about my fireplaces. Please realize that the rooms they are in all have 12-foot ceilings. Here they are:

Present house is about 1889. Foundation goes to 1854.

Thanks for looking.

Excellent Wes!

I have an old-assed fireplace too... although my house was build in 1940 the fireplace was brought with the family from Ireland circa late 1800s ish... they made it work though!

Ok! I thank-you very much! They are so beautiful! You can stay warm in any room in your home, that is great!
When the "BIG" ice storm hit here we were with out elec. for over a week and I loved having my gas logs but real ones in other rooms would have been fantastic! :icon_sunny: Thank-you! for sharing!

LOL! I dont see how any one could ever be mean to you! :icon_sunny:

I had the chance to build one similar to the last one, but the homeowner ruined it. He had me add butterfly doors over the top to conceal his 53 inch dlp tv. I guess they call that modernization LOL
