We spent some time trying some new fields that had no intel on them but were at least available this time of year. Sometimes these bottom of the pile choices turn up the odd good find, or if really lucky a hidden Roman Site. It wasn't to be today with the best finds being random losses in the middle of no-where. At least we can cross off a few more fields from the list. We always learn something on all the unknowns, even if its a blank.

I think your pin head might be Saxon too, I've seen quite a few like that from 8th/9th century Saxon sites

Only for the time being. We know a site when we see one, & none of these fields had sites. We still have options to look at, but who knows we may return, just depends how things pan out.
 
No site is ok when you come home with something Saxon. :occasion14:
