James & Son made many costume pieces, from military related to dresses for plays. I don't think they are still in business, but this is clearly a vintage item, evidenced by the phone number. I noted some similar items in a google search which described them as Vintage reproduction Revolutionary War Tricorn

Cocked hats. aka "Tricorns"

Those would have been enlisted military or possibly militia for the Colonials ("Americans").

Definitely reenactor but they look to be excellent quality - museum Fort or private group.

Me in the middle (militia).
