A no date Buffalo piqued my excitement at this new permission.... 4 hours deep into the hunt my pocketful of trash was giving me back spasms!
Final tally was 1918 and 1944 Mercs!... 5 common wheats, few bucks in clad... and lots of scrap copper tubing as well.
The old luggage(?) tag looks like it will open, says "Name and Owners Address Inside"... I'll check it out later....
The sterling spoon has a patent date of Jan 28 08, turns out its a broken grapefruit or citrus spoon...
Oh, the ring?....
marked "sterling" on the OUTSIDE of the ring....
smallest ring I've ever seen. Size 2? Weighs in at a whopping .74 grams!:tongue3:

Congrats on a Great day!!

I've never seen the sterling mark on the outside of a ring, that's a first. Congrats on the new spot and all that silver!

Congratualtions on the nice hunt! Silver is nice. :occasion14:

The start of a hot streak. Congrats, and keep it going. I really like the luggage tag...and mercs, of course. Buffalo should be mentioned, too.

I went back this morning, gave the homeowner a 1928 wheat, (year his house was built) as a Thankyou....in the flip and labeled with his address.... ol timer started to well up with gratitude... I found it yesterday...
Told me to come back anytime.
Awesome.

The luggage tag had a name and address inside, just as advertised... it was paper, rotted, illegible.

What a fantastic hunt - Sweet Silver!! :occasion14:

Sweet silver!!! Man that's a tiny ring! WTG ! Congrats and HH

Nice permission you landed there. Lovely silver coins, spoon, and ring. Buffalo, and a few relics is a wonderful hunt. Very considerate to give the owner a date correct Wheaty for his graciousness to let you hunt there. Well done.

Sweet hunt Dave,, congrats on the Silver and Buffalo.
The Sterling Spoon would have made a nice Spoon ring. I wonder if that's what happened to it??

I suppose this is what it looked like to begin with...couldn't find the ornate handle.
